We are proud to present Eclipse, a black weizen IPA, which we brewed in collaboration with Maisel & Friends brewery, located in Bavaria, Germany. This beer style is absolutely unique for Russia.
It’s very dark in color, just like the night sky during a lunar eclipse. This unfiltered wheat beer has a hop character you would expect in an IPA. We enhanced it even more by adding hops at all stages of brewing. We didn’t choose the name Eclipse only because of the beer’s color; it also refers to a rather unusual brewing process. A combination of wheat and rye malts creates a dry and light flavor with honey and fruity undertones and smoky notes of semi-hard cheeses. Soft, silky wheat is in perfect harmony with bitterness from dark malts, which builds up slowly, with every sip that you can’t help but take. In total, we used 5 types of malt to brew this beer, as well as 4 types of hops, including Ariana.
Black weizen IPA is a unique beer that combines Bavarian brewing traditions with the experiment-seeking spirit of Gletcher Brewery. Give this one a try and it will surely challenge your traditional view of wheat beer.
