Our What's the gist? series now features three new flavors. Please, welcome our basil, tomato and chilli and elderberry gose beers!
“What's the gist” is a phrase equivalent to the Russian phrase “Where’s the salt?”.
The recipe is quite simple and calls for malted wheat and barley with a bit of salt and coriander. The main ingredients – be it elderberry flowers with honey and fruity notes in the aroma, basil leaves or tomatoes and chillies – are added during different steps in the brewing process, depending on the flavor. It’s also important to conduct proper mash acidification. The resulting beer is well-balanced, exhibiting a medium degree of sourness with hints of salt and spices.
